Houston Update!
Thank you for being here 🙏 And welcome back to another blog post!
I’ll keep this one short! There’s been a lot of momentum in Houston and I wanted to share some updates!
I’m currently teaching at two yoga studios (True North Yoga & The Space Between Yoga Studio) between the two, I’m only teaching 3 classes a week — Restore & Sound Bowls, Flow classes, Yin, ect. Both studios are lovely and have their own unique clientel.
What takes up most of time though, is a place called The Center for Healing Arts & Sciences! I am their Master Reiki Healer and see a handful of Reiki clients a week! I’m also their marketing and programming girl, which has been a super fun role to step into! I get to be SO creative! I manage their social media accounts and help create & plan engaging content. And I plan/coordinate all of their programming. This summer we have a TON of one-day events, workshops, and multi-week series coming up and it’s been such a fun way to get involved with the community and meet some like-minded individuals.
The Center is where modern medicine and ancient wisdom meet. So, I’m working alongisde Acupuncturists, Jungian Anaylists, Psychotherapists, breathwork facilitators and trauma-conscious yoga teachers all day long. I’m so surprised a place like this exist in the center of Houston, but also so grateful that I landed there.
Aside, from work! Life is pretty fantastic! My quality of life has significantly improved since moving. I live in an apartment that feels 3x as big as my apartment in LA (and it’s about $1,000 cheaper)! The neighborhood is lovely and everyone, for the most part, is very friendly. Houston is also a very active city! So, I just signed up to run my first Half Marathon in October!
I’m also very much embracing Texas culture. I’ve gone to the Rodeo, seen Chris Stapelton perform, I’ve been doing some outdoor activities & going on day trips with my boyfriend.
Although I still have days where I miss California greatly, it’s been a lot of fun embracing change and newness, discovering new things about myself, finding a new routine. And, of course, not having to schedule Facetime calls with my boyfriend, and deal with a time difference, has been wonderful!
I hope you’re well ❤️
